Why A.O.E.?

Friendship, Leadership, Professionalism

This is the motto that the sisters of Alpha Omega Epsilon follow by.

Friendship

Alpha Omega Epsilon values life-long friendships rooted in kindness, love, and respect for one another. The unconditional and lifetime bonds of friendship is what we call sisterhood at A.O.E. We create a bond between sisters that lasts for a life time. Therefore, Alpha Omega Epsilon has a strict no hazing policy and strive to create a memorable candidacy process for our candidates!

Leadership

Alpha Omega Epsilon provides sisters with leadership opportunities through positions in executive board, as well as positions in different committees. We work together to uphold events and projects throughout the year. We also encourage our sisters to partake in other clubs and organizations at NYU.

Professionalism

We strive to provide our sisters with networks through close connections with our alumni. As well, we prepare our sisters for the professional world by holding workshops and panels. Overall, we provide an encouraging environment for sisters to perform their best academically, and provide support for those who struggle.

A.O.E. will always hold a special place in my heart. Coming to NYU with a limited number of friends, made it difficult to find my place. Forming this chapter has not only given me the community of strong, intelligent women that I was looking for but has also given me incredible memories and not mention, sisters that will last me a lifetime.

I joined A.O.E. because I wanted to have a tight group of friends and advice from upperclassmen about classes and navigating through college. I decided to join A.O.E. because the small and close-knit community, and because the sisters know what its like to be an engineering/stem student!!

I joined Alpha Omega Epsilon to find other women in STEM devoted to empowering and supporting other women. It is incredibly important to have these spaces for women and other marginalized groups in STEM to come together and support each other, and I am lucky enough to have found that with A.O.E. Over the past few years, through participating as an active and through leading the chapter, I've been continuously inspired by my sisters. I've learned more about who I am, and what it means to unconditionally support and encourage those around you. It's taught me to be proud of my accomplishments and own my successes and to do the same for others, because I've always had my sisters supporting and empowering me along the way.
