~ Recruitment & Candidacy~

Recruitment 

is a 1-2 week period of social and professional events open to the entire school. If you are interested in joining, you must attend at least 1 info session & 2 other events to receive a bid. (If there are serious schedule conflicts, please let us know). Feel free to attend our events even if you are not planning to join~ bring your friends too!

Candidacy

If you are interested in joining A.O.E. and receive a bid, you can accept joining as a candidate. Candidacy is a 6 week period where you can experience being part of the sorority and have the opportunity to learn more about the sorority and the sisters. This time is also used to see if both you and the sorority think if each is a good fit for each other. You'll also be receiving a big, who'll be your advocate and guide. At the end of the 6 weeks, eligible candidates will receive an offer to fully join the sorority.

Join the sisters and enjoy some Y2K-themed snacks while sisters talk about and answer questions about academic life, effective study habits, and tips and tricks for Tandon. This event will also act as a study session where participants can study with the sisters and possibly get help.

Work on your interview skills with this workshop. We will conduct speed rounds of interviews and hands-on practice for common interview questions. Be prepared to be put on the spot, and become a stronger contestant for jobs/internships.

Requirements for Recruitment 

  • 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale

  • Enrolled at NYU Tandon School of Engineering

  • Accepted Majors include:

    • Applied Physics (BS)

    • Biomolecular Science (BS)​

    • Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering (BS)

    • Civil Engineering (BS) 

    • Computer Engineering (BS)

    • Computer Science (BS)

    • Electrical Engineering (BS)

    • Integrated Design and Media (BS)

    • Mathematics (BS)

    • Mechanical Engineering (BS)

    • Physics and Mathematics (BS)

  • Must not be a member of another national or local sorority or fraternity with the exception of fraternities that are honorary and exclusively service-oriented in accordance with the dual membership policy in the International Constitutional Bylaws.
